Animation was freelanced out and ink & paint and camera were usually vended out in order to meet deadlines. According to Don Morgan, layout man on "Famous Adventures", everyone else was in house, including Bob McKimson.Darrellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02872914483836891531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2202740811135382485.post-50875459995615013982010-11-07T08:50:19.512-08:002010-11-07T08:50:19.512-08:00Loved the series Darrell. What studios worked on "Famous Adventures of Mr. Magoo"? One name I spotted in the credits was Robert McKimson, so I'm curious to know where he working at on this time.

As I recall, the "What's New Mr. Magoo" series was animated at DePatie-Freleng.Brubakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10741995395720022279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2202740811135382485.post-22330135368051007042010-11-05T13:49:19.707-07:002010-11-05T13:49:19.707-07:00I haven't heard of any plans to release it but...I haven't heard of any plans to release it but I suggest you let Columbia/Sony know of your interest. They have instituted an on-demand division, which releases low volume DVDs. For most animation historians, UPA died when it turned to television production, which is why this fairly obscure part of the studio's history has been overlooked. Adam Abraham is writing a book on the UPA studio's history for the University of Mississippi Press, which will hopefully provide the broadest view of the studio's history yet.Darrellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02872914483836891531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2202740811135382485.post-35865150590365846912010-11-05T12:59:52.673-07:002010-11-05T12:59:52.673-07:00Nice wrap up.
